This Just In: Robin Williams in Rehab For Booze

Robin Williams has hit the bottle again after a couple of decades of abstinence and has decided to try to nip this thing in the bud, announcing to "Entertainment Tonight" that he's checked himself into rehab to kick alcohol.

A rep for the actor released the following statement to "ET": "After 20 years of sobriety, Robin Williams found himself drinking again and has decided to take proactive measures to deal with this for his own well-being and the well-being of his family. He asks that you respect his and his family's privacy during this time. He looks forward to returning to work this fall to support his upcoming film releases."

This is one that makes me particularly sad, especially given what we know about how Williams was scared straight in the wake of John Belushi's death. Here's hoping he comes through this in one piece and stronger than ever.
