Seth MacFarlane Says He'd Like to Do a Series of 'Family Guy' Movies -- You Know, Kind of Like 'Star Trek'
During an interview this week to discuss the forthcoming 100th episode of his outrageous Fox animated series "Family Guy" on Nov. 4, creator/executive producer Seth MacFarlane (who also does the voices of Peter, Stewie, Brian and numerous others) was asked about the long-rumored idea of a "Family Guy" movie.
Here is how that exchange on the telephone went:
Hollywood Reporter: "We've started to hear the drumbeat for a 'Family Guy' feature film. Where does that stand? Anywhere?"
Seth MacFarlane: "Of course, we would like to see it happen as much as the fans would. The question is how to get it done. To me, the best way might be to wait until the series is finished, rather than do X-number of years of the show and then try to do the movie and the show simultaneously."
Reporter: "When do you see the series wrapping up, if you had your druthers?"
MacFarlane: "I think another 3 or 4 years maybe, have a really cool final episode, then do movies. That would take us up to 10 years. I admire 'The Simpsons' for going 20 (actually 19 at present), but I see 10 as being plenty. We just finished writing season six, so we're still a ways from being done. But that sounds appealing -- you know, finish the show, then maybe do a series of movies, like how 'Star Trek: The Next Generation' did it where they made 7 seasons of show and then features after that. I hope that's possible."

i think seth should do family guy to try and be the same length of the simpsons . or like put family guy on hold for a year or so to focus on the movie then go back to episodes
