Hey, look over here!

  • 'Hey Mom, I'm Voting For a New Diaper!'
Christina Aguilera cradles her flag-encased infant son Max Liron Bratman while crooning "America the Beautiful" to him in a public service announcement promoting the kickoff of this year's Rock the Vote campaign. The Coolest Ad in Movie House History Is Here

Amex_1 In case you regularly check out only one Hollywood Reporter blog rather than both -- and honestly, your life will remain woefully incomplete until you bookmark and make a habit of visiting each -- my esteemed colleagues Anne Thompson and Sheigh Crabtree and Anne's indispensable RiskyBiz blog have linked to the mega neat-o two-minute "My Life. My Card." American Express spot on YouTube.com featuring Wes Anderson.

Drop everything. You must watch this. Now.

It's Wes Anderson's World, We Just Live In It

Wes3 During the "Thank You For Smoking" screening I attended on Saturday, an unexpected treat was a two-minute or so American Express commercial with filmmaker Wes Anderson that was -- dare I say -- brilliant, featuring a self-deprecating Anderson encountering myriad uproarious curiosities on his movie set. This may be damning it with faint praise, but this had to be easily the most artful and imaginative pre-movie ad I've ever seen. Haven't been able to snag it online to share, however. I promise to do so when it becomes available.

UPDATE! UPDATE! UPDATE!  Here's the spot (posted on 4/26/06) from YouTube.com.
